MARLMARL comes from two Japanese words: one meaning round, the other to turn. Both describe the brand's first piece, a round bib that you rotate to a clean side when one gets wet. It is still the piece MARLMARL is known for, now in dozens of series.

Good Design Award, for the HUG raincoat
Michiyo Takahashi and Kazuya Fukasawa were working in Tokyo's fashion industry when they started MARLMARL as a side project. They wanted an alternative to what was on the shelves: quiet colours, grown-up cuts made small, and children photographed as they really are.
MARLMARL's word for beautiful and useful at once. A tutu is a dress for a baby and becomes a skirt as the child grows. Rompers open all the way down, so changing a baby takes a moment. The knits are made in one piece, so no seams run along the inside. Each product's page gives its own sizes and materials.
MARLMARL was founded as a gift brand rather than a clothing label, and it shows in the details: the sets arrive in the brand's own box, ready to hand over.
In Tokyo you'll find it at Ginza Six and Isetan Shinjuku, among other places. Beyond Japan it is sold in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, and now here.
Every piece here comes from MARLMARL in Japan, and we look after your order until it reaches you. We're preparing a showroom in Jakarta, so you can see the pieces in person. We'll share its address here when it opens.
